Creating Email and Text Message Templates

This feature provides the ability for you to create predefine email and text templates that you can select when responding to customer inquiries via Update Plus. Previously created templates can also be edited in this screen. To set up message templates in your repair facility profile, click on the Customer Communication link under Repair Management.

To set up text and email message templates

  1. Select Configure, and then select Profiles from the menu bar.
  2. Select your repair facility profile, and then select Edit from the mini-toolbar.
  3. Click on the Customer Communication link under Repair Management.
  4. Select Add in the Message Templates pane. The Communication Template screen opens.
  5. Enter a name for the template in the Template Name field (required), and then select Email or Text from the Type droplist.
  6. Select the Subject field, select Insert Field, and then select a field from the Insert Field droplist. The selected field appears in the Subject field.
  7. Enter free form text in the same field if needed.
  8. Select the Message Body field, and then select Insert Field, and then select a field from the Insert Field droplist. The selected field appears in the Message Body field.
  9. Enter free form text in the Message Body field if needed, and then select OK.
  10. Select Save or Save and Close.
